1.5mm diameter wire rope in reels and individual cables

1.5mm wire rope for use with ceiling fixings and other hanging wire hardware.

This product is known variously as suspension cable, wire rope, hanging wire, aircraft cable (US terminology). We're talking about the same product in each case. The cables are quite slender looking (1.5mm diameter) but strong. They are made up of 7 strands each compring 7 fine wires interwoven together to give maximum strength and flexibility. This means that they hang straight, displaying no memory of being shipped coiled up. The 7x7 cable construction also means that our self locking fittings grip really well on the cables. Our cut-to-length cables are supplied with soldered ends to prevent fraying and facilitate entereing the cable into the self-locking fittings.

Available cable-only options

Strong galvanised steel hanging wires with either plain ends or crimped-on mini hook fittings. These wires are already included in some of our kits - refer to the individual product page for more information. Cables are also available as a 50m or 100m long wire rope reel for cutting to length as required.

Hook-end cable  (CABLE.2/H)
2m long 1.2mm diameter wire rope, with crimped mini hook one end and plain other end (soldered plain end to prevent fraying) 

Loop-end cable  (CABLE.2/L)
2m long 1.5mm diameter wire rope, with crimped loop one end and plain other end (soldered plain end to prevent fraying) 

Plain cable 4m long  (CABLE.4)
4m long plain ended 1.5mm wire rope (ends fused to prevent fraying)

Reel of wire rope (CABLE.50)
50m long reel of 1.5mm diameter 7x7 galvanised wire rope.  Requires good quality, sharp wire cutters to avoid fraying (which makes introduction into fittings difficult).

Reel of wire rope (CABLE.100)
100m long reel of 1.5mm diameter 7x7 galvanised wire rope.  Requires good quality, sharp wire cutters to avoid fraying (which makes introduction into fittings difficult).
