These outdoor sign holders offer a low-cost and effective way to display signs stuck into the ground - a versatile small sign stake.
The frames accept self-printed A5 and A4 signs which have been laminated to make them waterproof. Equally, they suit signs printed on thin rigid display boards such as those produced by printers and sign companies. The plastic frames with a poster-insert slot are supplied with a plastic backing sheet to stiffen up laminated paper signs (the correx backing sheet can be set aside if not required).
A5 or A4 Event sign holder with ground spike
Designed to hold A5 or A4 event signs and outdoor notices comes with a metal stake to stick into the ground.
Our unique Stakeholder makes a great sign holder for use in nurseries and garden centres, at golf courses and for advertising local events on a roadside verge. These ground stake signs are very popular for promoting local events and for temporary direction signs. The Stakeholder also provides a professional way to secure A4 planning application notices within a frame attached to a stake stuck into the soil.
A4 or A5 frame which can be fixed portrait or landscape accommodates waterproof laminated A4 prints or outdoor signs e.g. printed on thin plastic.
Our stake signs can be reused many times for subsequent events - the plastic frame is outdoor grade ABS (which is potentially recyclable when no longer required).
Range of frame colours is available with matching T-pieces. See the colour swatch menu for frame colour choices.
Supplied with a 16" (400 mm) no-rust metal stake designed to be stuck in the ground - 10mm diameter metal ground stake is made of aluminium suitable for sticking into the ground.
See installation tips regarding hard ground and alternative ways to install - e.g. by attaching the stake to a low fence using cable ties.
Specification of A5 or A4 frame with a stake to stick into the ground
Comprises A5 or A4 Slim frame, matching T-piece and aluminium ground stake.
The frame is made of tough outdoor-grade plastic (ABS). It has a slot in one short edge into which to insert your own A4 or A5 print (preferably laminated or encapsulated to make the paper waterproof). The frame comes with a correx stiffener to stop prints from slipping or blowing out. With two prints inserted back-to-back, the Stakeholder also suits a double-sided display. When employing a sign produced on a thicker substrate than paper - for example, 3mm foam PVC - simply omit the correx backing sheet.
The frame clips securely into the T-piece with the opening positioned at the top or on one side. The T-piece is supplied already mounted on a 10mm diameter aluminium stake with a pointed tip to aid pushing into soil. Hard-baked earth may need a 'pilot' hole to be created first with a spike.
This product does not include a clear plastic cover sheet as we recommend paper signs should be encapsulated or printed on waterproof synthetic paper. For very short term outdoor signage you can order poster protectors here but these will not provide protection from significant rain and your paper signs may be spoiled.
The aluminium tube is approx 400mm (16") long. Depending on the soil type a quarter of the stake (or more) should be pushed into the ground.
The overall height of the sign depends on the size of frame selected and whether it is used portrait or landscape.
Installation Tips
Insert the stake into the ground before clipping the frame into the T-piece. This gives you more pushing power. See picture.
If the ground is very hard we suggest you use a cordless with a 10mm masonry drill bit - a long one ideally - to create a 'pilot' hole, This greatly facilitates insertion of the 10mm diameter tube in dry baked ground.
The frame 'clicks' into the T-piece with firm pressure and a slight rolling action. Don't be afraid to use some force - the plastic is tough and will not break.
The frame can be slid from side to side within the T-piece to centralise.
To change from landscape to portrait, slide the frame to the corner and rotate it by 90 degrees. A firm rocking action is required.
To remove the frame, first remove the print and backing sheet, then rotate it until the side of the frame with the open slot is within the T-piece. The frame is then loose and can be removed easily. Do not use the frame with the slot at the bottom as it will wobble!
The stake can also be 'lashed' onto a post or fence panel to raise it up higher. Cable ties are suggested for this purpose (not included).
